A Foodie’s Journey Through Oklahoma Restaurants
Oklahoma may not be known for its food scene but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have great restaurants!
If you want a menu that reflects everything from down-home cooking to upscale culinary delights, you need to make a trip to Oklahoma! Drive through the state and stray off the beaten path.
Also, keep in mind campgrounds and RV parks in Oklahoma along your journey!
You may just find a gem that sticks with you long after you return home. 🙂
Eischen’s Bar
Eischen’s Bar is located in Okarche and is the place to go in Oklahoma if you want fried chicken. If you really want to overload in fried goodness don’t miss out on the fried okra and fried pickles!

You know it has to be good if it was featured on Diners, Drive In’s and Dive! Be prepared for a wait, though, sometimes you can wait up to two hours for fresh chicken. Seating is first-come, first-served.
note: Eischen’s Bar does NOT accept credit or debit cards! Make sure you have cash or checks on you when you visit. They are also closed on Sundays.
Clanton’s Cafe
Another Oklahoma restaurant that was featured on Triple D but it was also featured on Man Vs. Food.
When you stop in at Clanton’s Cafe, make sure you have the chicken fried steak, it is the highest complemented dish on Yelp. Don’t forget to throw in the hand-battered onion rings. If you leave without trying one of the pies, you will be sorry. They are delicious!
Kilkenny’s Irish Pub
Located in Tulsa, Kilkenny’s is the place to stop at if you want a full Irish breakfast.
If lunch and dinner are more your styles then you definitely will want to try the “paddy melt”. It is amazing! Don’t leave without trying the spirits!
Frank & Lola’s
Located in Bartlesville, Frank and Lola’s is a hot spot with locals. Everyone knows when you go to a new place you eat where the locals do!
They serve locally sourced beef and their American cuisine is amazing. If go on a Saturday night you will be treated to live music. If you are in the mood for a great burger, try the Johnny!
Vast
Located in Oklahoma City, Vast is a very upscale, modern restaurant. This is where you go when you are having a special occasion dinner. Reservations are highly recommended if you want to eat here.
Dinner is the best and if you want a real treat, try the Rack of Lamb. It will set you back a bit but it is worth it. It is so moist, tender, and flavorful! Another great thing about this place is that it is from scratch. Meaning everything is cooked when it is ordered!
The Rock Cafe
This iconic RT. 66 restaurant has inspired the character Sally Carrera in the Disney/Pixar Film Cars. The history will make you stop by but the food will make your stay. If you are looking for stick-to-your-ribs home cooking at a great price, The Rock Cafe is the right place!
A must-try is the Jagerschnitzel. It is a breaded and fried pork cutlet topped with creamy bacon, onion, and mushroom sauce served with spaetzle. Just beware, you will get addicted and have to come back again!
Cattlemen’s Steakhouse
Cattlemen’s has the best-aged steaks in Oklahoma. It is also another restaurant that was featured on Triple D and Man Vs. Food.
Cattlemen’s is known for the unique history, legendary breakfasts, and steaks that are done perfectly. But don’t leave without trying the coffee. It has been said that even Seattle can’t touch its greatness.
Click’s Steakhouse
Located in Pawnee, Click’s has been a local landmark since 1962. It has changed several hands through the years but what hasn’t changed is the food.
They are known for the juiciest prime rib but you can’t leave without trying one of their amazing fluffy meringue pies! Click’s is open 7 days a week at various times.
The Diner
The Diner is just that, a diner. But don’t let that fool you. They are only open from 6:30 AM to 2 PM and there isn’t a lot of seating.
They have been around for over 100 years so they know a thing or two about breakfast. According to Yelp their omelets and bacon are the best things on the menu! If you are looking for something sweet, try the french toast! It is thick, eggy, and totally delicious.
Granny’s Kitchen
Located in Stillwater, Granny’s is also only open from 6 AM to 2 PM. Even though the locals rave about the entire menu, the thing to get is the homemade cinnamon rolls.
They are made from scratch, every single day, just like Granny used to do! If you aren’t into sugar overdrives another local favorite is the hamburger steak and fried okra.
